Alabama Ophthalmology Associates is a medical practice specializing in surgical and medical eye care. It is located in the Johnson Building at 1000 19th Street South.

Alabama Ophthalmology Associates was founded in 1976 by Fred Elsas, and was registered as a professional corporation in 1979. He was joined years later by Robert Phillips, formerly of the Jefferson Clinic. The clinic also sees patients at Children's Hospital and at satellite offices in Huntsville and Montgomery

In 2013 two of the practice's physicians, John A. Long and Matthew Vicinanzo, incorporated Alabama Oculoplastic Associates as a limited liability corporation . That group, which shares an address with Alabama Ophthalmology Associates, specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery near the eyes.
