Alabama Public Television

Alabama Public Television is a public, educational broadcast television network governed by the Alabama Educational Television Commission and affiliated with the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). Its offices are located in the 21 Office Plaza South building at 2112 11th Avenue South in Birmingham. The executive director is Wayne Reid.

The Commission was established by the State of Alabama in 1953, and the first stations, WCIQ on Mt Cheaha, began broadcasting in January 1955.

  • WBIQ-TV (Channel 10) in Birmingham
  • WCIQ-TV (Channel 7), from Mt Cheaha in Cleburne County
  • WDIQ-TV (Channel 2), from Dozier, Crenshaw County
  • WEIQ-TV (Channel 42), in Mobile, Mobile County
  • WFIQ-TV (Channel 36), in Florence, Lauderdale County
  • WGIQ-TV (Channel 43), in Louisville, Barbour County
  • WHIQ-TV (Channel 25), in Huntsville, Madison County
  • WIIQ-TV (Channel 41), in Demopolis, Marengo County
  • WLRH-FM (FM 89.3) in Huntsville, Madison County
