Birmingham Day

Birmingham Day is December 19, in recognition of the incorporation of the city by the Alabama Legislature on that date in 1871.
The observance was suggested by Idyl King Sorsby for the semicentennial in 1921 and was officially adopted by the Birmingham City Commission in 1925.
