Brighton School (also known as Brighton K-8 School, formerly Brighton High School and Brighton Middle School) is part of Jefferson County Schools serving grades K-8 for Brighton and nearby sections of western Jefferson County. It is located at 3400 Brown Circle, off of Jaybird Road. The principal is Aisha Bryant.

Prior to integration of Jefferson County Schools, Brighton High School served Black students.

In 1957 a student from another high school was fatally wounded in a stabbing at the Brighton High School senior prom. Principal Charles Brown Jr canceled future prom dances, with the event only resuming in 1967. The Class of 1966 organized a formal dance as part of their 44th reunion in 2011.

A new school building was completed in 2010, using funds from a $1 billion bond issue supported by a 1¢ increase in Jefferson County sales taxes proposed in 2005 by then-Jefferson County Commission president Larry Langford.

Brighton's athletic teams are called the Bears, and the schools colors are maroon and gold.
