The Burrell-Country House

The Brookside History Museum is a historical museum that houses artifacts drawn primarily from the coal-mining and coking areas of western Jefferson County in the vicinity of Brookside and Cardiff. The museum is located on the grounds of the Brookside Civic Complex in the Burrell-Country House, a well-preserved mine company shotgun house that was relocated to Brookside from Cardiff in 2009.

Beside the house itself, artifacts already acquired for the museum include a scrip stamp from the Tombrello Coal & Coke Company, and bottles from the Pioneer Bottling Works.

The project is being coordinated by the Cawaco Resource Conservation & Development Council with Staci Simon Glover acting as curator and director.
