Carrigan's Public House
Carrigan's Philanthropub, formerly Carrigan's Public House, is a bar and gastropub located in the "The William" (a redevelopment of the Brown & Jacobs Building at 1911–1913 3rd Avenue North.
The business was first opened on August 1, 2013 by stone contractor David Carrigan in the Blackwell Building on the corner of Morris Avenue and 25th Street.
The former Dram Whisky Bar at 2721 Cahaba Road in Mountain Brook Village became a Carrigan's Pub location in November 2019. It opened with Kristy Collins as general manager, Brät Brot's Angela Schmidt as executive chef, and Chris Spear as chef de cuisine. Joseph Kushner served as bar manager, with Reece Dodd assisting. The Mountain Brook location closed in August 2022.
Carrigan rebranded Brät Brot at 2910 6th Avenue South as "Carrigan’s Beer Garden" in 2020. He sold that location to In H2 Real Estate in 2023.
In August 2023 the original Carrigan's was rebranded as a "Philanthropub", promising to donate 100% of profits to local charities and to provide event space free of charge for community groups.
Carrigan's moved from the Blackwell Building to The William in January 2025.
