Christopher Davis
Christopher Davis (born July 7, 1970 in Birmingham) is an artist and comedian.
Davis graduated from Birmingham's Carver High School and studied graphic design at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He spent ten years on the staff of Southern Living magazine as a designer and commercial artist, and has also worked for Slaughter Hanson advertising agency. He was commissioned to provide one of the t-shirt designs for the 1992 City Stages music festival.
After losing his position at Southern Living in 2009 Davis focused on art, exhibiting at art festivals. He was honored as the "Emerging Artist" and poster artist for the 2013 Magic City Art Connection and has turned a sideline of painting pet portraits into a steady source of income.
As a comedian and performer, Davis has been a member of several improv groups such as the Extemporaneous Theatre Company and Ugly Baby Improv, and he co-founded the Feminist Debutante Guild. He was a host of the short-lived "View of the City" parody news show on public access cable television, and is remembered for his portrayal of former Mayor Larry Langford. He has also served as an emcee for numerous events.
