Jennifer Parsons Champion
Jennifer Parsons Champion (born 1970) is a paralegal and was elected Treasurer of Jefferson County in the 2008 election.
Champion is the daughter of Jefferson County Circuit Court judge Mac Parsons. She worked as a paralegal for Waldrep, Stewart, and Kendrick and also served as a case manager for the Jefferson County Deputy County Conservator. She ran for Jefferson County Tax Collector in 2002, but was defeated by incumbent J. T. Smallwood. In 2008 she defeated Mike Miles in the Democratic primary and appointed incumbent Ken Gomany in the general election.
In March 2010 as the Jefferson County Commission considered a resolution that would allow the county to issue bonds under a federal stimulus program, Champion informed them that she would not sign onto any measure to increase the county's indebtedness.
