Johnnie Johnson Jr (born c. 1942) was Chief of the Birmingham Police Department from 1991 to 1998.
Johnson was appointed chief by Mayor Richard Arrington, Jr, and served for seven years. He later served on the Alabama State Board of Pardons and Parole.
Johnson was working as an automobile sales and leasing consultant when he challenged District 1 incumbent Joel Montgomery in the 2005 Birmingham City Council election. He finished third in that race.
Johnson's son Geoffrey is an engineer and minister. His grandson, Timothy is a West Point cadet.
