Kim Price
Kim N. Price (born c. 1954; died January 16, 2012 in Alexander City) was the owner of Price Publications, which published several local newspapers, including the Wetumpka Herald, for which he served as editor and publisher.
Price graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 1972 and from the University of Alabama in 1976. He began working for the Alexander City Outlook in high school. He wrote for the Associated Press from 1978 to 1990. He was president and publisher of the Shelby County Reporter from 1990 to 2001 and of the Alexander City Outlook from 2001 to 2003.
Price founded his own publishing company with the purchase of the Wetumpka Herald in 2003. PPI acquired the Eclectic Observer in 2006 and the Tallassee Tribune in 2009. The company also publishes the monthly magazines Covey Rise, Gallery of Homes, and Elmore County Living.
Price served as president of the Alabama Press Association in 2002 and was appointed the the national board of Quail Forever in 2006.
Price died in 2012. He was survived by his wife, Janet, and four children.
