MoveMent C.A.R.E.
MoveMent C.A.R.E. is a health clinic founded by Elaine Colby and The MoveMent Fellowship Church and its MoveMent Foundation in 2024. It is located in the former G. W. Scott School at 1517 Hibernian Street, near Bankhead Highway in Birmingham's North Pratt neighborhood. The clinic's name is an acronym for "Comprehensive Aide Reaching Everyone."
The Birmingham City Council sold the former school and adjoining North Pratt Community Center to the church in February 2024. The clinic is planned as an anchor for a larger community resource facility which would also provide senior housing, educational programs, and a credit union.
As a Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinic, MoveMent C.A.R.E. enrolls patients in a flat monthly fee which includes unlimited health check-ups, preventative care, and long-term management of health conditions. It will also offer one-time visits for a nominal fee, subsidized by the MoveMent Foundation. Initially the clinic was open one day a week.
