ChristWay Church is a Pentecostal church located at 961 Mount Olive Road across from Gardendale High School. The church completed construction of a 1,200-seat theater-style sanctuary as part of their $6.5 million campus in early 2007. They held a dedication service on January 21. The new building replaces a $1.5 million structure that now serves as a family life center.

The church was founded in 1935 as the North Birmingham Church of God in the home of Sister Whatley in the Fairmont Hill neighborhood. The growing congregation took on Eugene Thomas as its first pastor expanded into a large tent nearby. He was replaced by C. M. Day as pastor by the time that a church building was built in 1936. In 1945, under C. C. Dunnavant the church found a new location at 27th Street and 32nd Avenue North. Two years later a new building was erected a block away at 2801 35th Avenue North under the pastorship of J. T. Peoples. A parsonage was raised adjacent to the church in 1953.

In 1975, under R. O. Eubanks, the church began looking for a larger property where they could expand the church. They purchased a 7-acre lot at 801 Tarrant Road in Gardendale in 1977. F. R. Bryant became pastor in September of that year. The following May they sold their North Birmingham building and met at the Fultondale Public Library and at George Rogers Vocational School while construction of the new building was under way.

When the church was rededicated on June 3, 1979, the name was changed to the Lynnwood Church of God. Construction continued at the site as the church grew. A new parsonage on Teresa Drive was completed in 1993.

In 1996 a search for a new property began. After three adjoining parcels totalling 5 acres were assembled, a decision was made to undertake the move. The church adopted its current name in September 2002, a month before construction began. The first service was held at the interim worship center on June 22, 2003. The education facility, providing day-care services, opened in August of that year.

Bryant remains senior pastor of the church, assisted by Administrative Pastor Michael Carter and Music Pastor Devin Stephenson.
