Reliant Glycosciences is a bioscience start-up founded in 2015 by Matthew Renfrow, William Placzek, Bruce Julian, Dana Rizk, and Jan Novak using technology developed by Novak at the UAB Department of Microbiology, and licensed from UAB.
The company is developing assays intended to identify biomarkers of IgA nephropathy, a chronic kidney disease. They have also participated in clinical trials for potential treatments.
The company originally operated out of space leased from Discovery BioMed in the Riverhills Business Park, eventually buying the space.
