Road to Rickwood
Road to Rickwood is a 2024 audio podcast created and produced by Alana Schreiber of WWNO-FM in New Orleans, and narrated by Roy Wood Jr. It was planned in connection with the MLB at Rickwood Field event in honor of the Negro Leagues which was held in June of that year.
Additional production work was provided by Ben Dickstein and Jonah Buchanan of WWNO and Cody Short from AL.com. Writers included Dickstein and Schreiber, with story editing by Ryan Vasquez. The sound design and mixing was carried out by Joaquin Cotler. Squeak E. Clean Studio provided original music, and Xavier Murillo furnished artwork for the production. The series was supported by Major League Baseball, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the St Louis Convention & Visitors Commission.
The podcast was released in 4 episodes on the NPR Network.
