The AHSAA Super Seven Championships (formerly the Super Six) are the annual football championships for all classes of the Alabama High School Athletics Association. Since 1996 all championship games have been scheduled to coincide on one field during one weekend.

Before the "Super 6" event, only the 6A championship was held at Birmingham's Legion Field while other classes played at individual high schools. Beginning in 2009 the Super Six began alternating between Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa and Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn.

In 2019 the AHSAA announced that it would add the newly-completed Protective Stadium in downtown Birmingham to its rotation, with Birmingham hosting the event in 2021, 2024, 2027 and 2030.

2021

The 2021 Super Seven was hosted at Protective Stadium in Birmingham. The three-day event set a new attendance record with 62,544 total fans, including 28,182 for the 2A, 4A & 6A championships in Friday evening.

  • Class 1A: The Sweet Water Bulldogs defeated the Wadley Bulldogs 40-16.
  • Class 2A: The Clarke County Bulldogs defeated the Cleveland Panthers 49-41.
  • Class 3A: The Piedmont Bulldogs defeated the Montgomery Academy Eagles 35-33.
  • Class 4A: The Vigor Wolves defeated the Oneonta Redskins 52-14.
  • Class 5A: The Pike Road Patriots defeated the Pleasant Grove Spartans 51-14.
  • Class 6A: The Clay-Chalkville Cougars defeated the Hueytown Golden Gophers 40-41.
  • Class 7A: The Thompson Warriors defeated the Central-Phenix City Red Devils 38-22.
  • Girl's Flag Football: The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies defeated the Smiths Station Panthers 14-13 in double overtime.

2020

The 2020 Super Seven was played at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.

  • Class 1A: The Linden Patriots defeated the Pickens County Tornadoes 32-8.
  • Class 2A: The Mars Hill Bible Panthers defeated the Abbeville Yellow Jackets 56-14.
  • Class 3A: The Fyffe Red Devils defeated the Montgomery Catholic Knights 21-16.
  • Class 4A: The Handley Tigers defeated the Gordo Greenwave 35-20.
  • Class 5A: The St Paul's Episcopal Saints defeated Pleasant Grove Spartans 29-21.
  • Class 6A: The Pinson Valley Indians defeated the Spanish Fort Toros 23-13.
  • Class 7A: The Thompson Warriors defeated the Auburn Tigers 29-28.

2019

The 2019 Super Sever was played at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn.

  • Class 1A: The Lanett Panthers defeated the Mars Hill Bible Panthers 41-30.
  • Class 2A: The Fyffe Red Devils defeated the Reeltown Rebels 56-7.
  • Class 3A: The Piedmont Bulldogs defeated the Mobile Christian Leopards 26-24.
  • Class 4A: The UMS-Wright Bulldogs defeated the Jacksonville Golden Eagles 28-17.
  • Class 5A: The Central Clay County Volunteers defeated Pleasant Grove Spartans 31-27.
  • Class 6A: The Oxford Yellow Jackets defeated the Spanish Fort Toros 14-13.
  • Class 7A: The Thompson Warriors defeated the Central-Phenix City Red Devils 40-14.

2018

The 2018 Super Sever was played at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn.

  • Class 1A: The Mars Hill Bible Panthers defeated the Linden Patriots 53-26.
  • Class 2A: The Fyffe Red Devils defeated the Luverne Tigers 21-19.
  • Class 3A: The Piedmont Bulldogs defeated the Flomaton Hurricanes 23-12.
  • Class 4A: The UMS-Wright Bulldogs defeated the Deshler Tigers 52-0.
  • Class 5A: The Central Clay County Volunteers defeated the Vigor Wolves 43-42.
  • Class 6A: The Pinson Valley Indians defeated the Saraland Spartans 26-17.
  • Class 7A: The Central-Phenix City Red Devils defeated the Thompson Warriors 52-7.
  • Class 7A Unified flag football: The Baldwin County Bandits defeated the Vestavia Hills Rebels 26-18.

2017

The 2017 Super Seven was hosted at Bryant-Denny Stadium at the University of Alabama. Mobile area schools claimed championships in four of the seven divisions.

  • Class 1A: The Maplesville High School Red Devils (13-1) defeated the Cedar Bluff School Tigers (13-2), 59 to 24.
  • Class 2A: The Elba High School Tigers (14-1) defeated the Fyffe High School Red Devils (13-2), 36 to 22.
  • Class 3A: The Piedmont High School Bulldogs (14-1) defeated the Bayside Academy Admirals (11-4), 44 to 7.
  • Class 4A: The Leeds High School Green Wave (13-2) defeated the Fayette County High School Tigers (10-5), 55 to 7.

  • Class 7A: The Hoover High School Buccaneers (12-2) defeated the McGill-Toolen Catholic High School Yellow Jackets (13-1), 17 to 7.

The 2012 Super Six was hosted at Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn University.

  • Class 1A: Brantley High School (15-0) defeated Marion County High School (13-2), 33 to 0
  • Class 2A: Tanner High School (14-0) defeated Washington County High School (13-2), 28 to 14
  • Class 3A: Madison Academy (13-2) defeated Fayette County High School (12-3), 31 to 7
  • Class 4A: UMS-Wright (13-2) defeated Oneonta High School (14-1), 42 to 14
  • Class 5A: Spanish Fort (14-1) defeated McAdory High School (14-1), 45 to 14
  • Class 6A: Hoover High School (15-0) defeated Opelika High School (10-5), 31 to 0

Attendance for the 6A title game was estimated at about 36,000.

2011

The 2010 Super Six was hosted at Bryant-Denny Stadium on the campus of the University of Alabama.

  • Class 1A: Marion County High School defeated Lindon High School, 23-12
  • Class 2A: Elba High School defeated Tanner High School, 34 to 14
  • Class 3A: Handley High School defeated Madison Academy, 20 to 14
  • Class 4A: Jackson High School defeated Oneonta High School, 42 to 28
  • Class 5A: Hartselle High School defeated Vigor High School, 13 to 3
  • Class 6A: Prattville High School defeated Hoover High School, 35 to 34

2010

The 2010 Super Six was hosted at Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn University.

  • Class 1A: Sweet Water High School reclaimed the 1A championship by defeating R. A. Hubbard High School, 36-0
  • Class 2A: Leroy High School won the 2A championship by defeating Reeltown High School, 34-7
  • Class 3A: Leeds High School returned as champions in the 3A bracket, defeating Hamilton High School 42-32
  • Class 4A: Thomasville HIgh School won the 4A championship by defeating Deshler High School, 59-34
  • Class 5A: Spanish Fort High School clained the 5A title over Briarwood Christian School, 14-0
  • Class 6A: Daphne High School won the 6A crown by besting Hoover High School, 7-6
A goal line stand in the final minutes gave the Trojans a 7-6 victory over the reigning Hoover Bucs. Michael Pierce, a Daphne linebacker, made 10 tackles and was named MVP of the championship.

2009

The 2009 Super Six was hosted at Bryant-Denny Stadium on the campus of the University of Alabama.

  • Class 1A: Brantley High School brought home the 1A crown, besting Hackleburgh High School, 28-13
  • Class 2A: Reeltown High School broke Leroy's streak for the 2A title, winning 16-8
  • Class 3A: Piedmont High School was the champion of the 3A bracket, defeating Cordova High School 35-28 in overtime
  • Class 4A: Cherokee County HIgh School won the 4A championship, beating Jackson High School 31-27
  • Class 5A: Demopolis High School clained the 5A title, besting Russellville High School 27-14
  • Class 6A: Hoover High School won the 6A crown, beating Prattville High School 28-14

2008

  • Class 1A: Sweet Water High School defeated Speake High School by a score of 42 to 0 on claiming their third consecutive 1A championship.
MVP fullback Johnny Locket rushed for 171 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns for the Bulldogs. The Speake Bobcats were held to 91 yards of total offense.
  • Class 2A: Leroy High School defeated Sulligent High by a score of 41 to 8 to claim a fourth straight 2A championship.
Bears reserve Justin Besteda scored on a Super Six record 98-yard run from scrimmage to cap a four touchdown fourth quarter. Quarterback Clint Moseley was 15 of 27 for 272 yard and two touchdowns and was named MVP of the game.
  • Class 3A: Leeds High School defeated reigning champs Cordova by a score of 38 to 21 to remain undefeated for the year.
Cordova running back Tim Simon amassed 180 yards on the ground with a touchdown, but Green Wave quarterback Rush Perkins carried the ball 17 times for Leeds, racking up 145 yards and three touchdowns. He also passed for another TD and was named game MVP.
  • Class 4A: UMS-Wright High School defeated Cherokee County High School by a score of 41 to 7.
MVP Brock Reaves caught eight passes for 232 yards and a touchdown while rusher Chris Dukes racked up 164 yards on the ground and two more scores for the Bulldogs.
  • Class 5A: Vigor High School defeated Russelville High School 50-30.
The Wolves amassed a Super Six record 480 yards on the ground, led by MVP Ken Houston's 180 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Class 6A: Prattville High defeated Hoover High School by a score of 16 to 13 to win a third straight championship.
The Lions' only touchdown came on a 72-yard interception return by Nick Perry. MVP Brian Egan kicked three field goals. Hoover's Dylan Breeding missed the last of his three attempts, which would have tied the game on the last play.

2007

MVP Anthony Landrum rushed for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns while the Bulldogs held Talladega County to 108 yards of total offense.
  • Class 2A: Leroy High School defeated Fyffe High by a score of 25 to 20 on December 7, 2007.
The Bears won their third straight championship by rallying from a 13-20 deficit by holding Fyffe to 15 yards in the 4th quarter. QB Clint Mosely finished the day 17 for 27 for 243 yards and three touchdowns. Fyffe's Kyle Greeson led all rushers with 106 yards in the losing effort.
The Blue Devils snapped Clay County's streak of two consecutive championships with gritty efforts on both sides of the ball. MVP Tim Simon scored twice and rushed for 142 yards, including a 28-yard surge in which he broke 5 tackles to get within the 10-yard line.
MVP Jeremy Williams led the 15-0 Falcons to 28 unanswered points in the first half after Deshler opened the scoring on a 14-yard touchdown pass to tight end Coleman Miller. Central's Demario Pippen finished with 108 yards on 13 carries. He also had a 51-yard kickoff return. The Falcons closed out the first half with an interception grabbed by Jonathan Edwards at Central's 21 yard line. He lateraled to Trevon Lawson who ran it in for the score.
Briarwood's Walker May returned two blocked punts for touchdowns, but it wasn't enough as the Saints blocked the Lions' extra point to preserve their first championship victory. Mark Barron won MVP honors by rushing for 97 yards on offense and grabbing an interception to go with 6 tackles on defense.
The Lions held the Jaguars' vaunted run game to 31 yards to win their 2nd straight championship in a shutout. Backup running back Jerrod Williams racked up 120 yards and scored the game's only two touchdowns to earn MVP honors.

2006

Prattville High School celebrates winning the 6A championship
  • Class 1A: Sweet Water High School (13-1) defeated Cedar Bluff High School (13-2) by a score of 48 to 0.
Dominic Holt scored on three short runs and Antonio Landrum caught two TD passes in the 2nd quarter and ran in another in the 3rd to power Sweet Water in the shutout.
  • Class 2A: Leroy High School (13-2) defeated Woodland High School (12-3) by a score of 12 to 7.
Trae Brown completed a 64 yard drive with an 11 yard pass to Brandon Nunn to open scoring in the 2nd quarter. Leroy got on the board with a 76-yard fumble return. Rusher Ronald Bracy added another 6 with a 6 yard run to cap a 75 yard drive in the 3rd. Leroy's defense picked off three passes late to seal the victory.
James Jackson had a 21 yard rush, a 46 yard reception, and a 46 yard interception return to lead Pike County. Darrell Reynolds scored on a 5 yard run and kicked a 26 yard field goal and Kevin Marshall caught one of Tobias Lee's 3 touchdown passes to wrap up the scoring for Pike County.
  • Class 4A: Guntersville High School (14-1) defeated Thomasville High School (13-2) by a score of 28 to 27.
Chaz Rogers three three touchdowns to three different receivers, but Josh Gunther's 2-yard run with 5:50 remaining gave Guntersville the narrow victory. All of Thomasville's points came from the rushing game as James White scored twice in the first half and Alex Buford and Jake Overstreet found the end zone in the second.
  • Class 5A: Athens High School (12-3) defeated Eufala High School (14-1) by a score of 10 to 7.
Karlos Jones' 3 yard run capped off a 74 yard drive in the 1st quarter, which was answered by a 91 yard drive by Eufala, with Xavier Crews punching it in from the 5. Matt Jackson's 23 yard field goal at the end of the half gave Athen's the lead and wrapped up the scoring.
  • Class 6A: Prattville High School (15-0) defeated Hoover High School (13-2) by a score of 35 to 21.
Justin Albert scored three touchdowns, one on a 64 yard run, to lead Prattville. Zach Brownell opened the scoring on an 11-yard return of a blocked punt, and Dekendrick Moncrief caught a 7-yard pass from Larry Smith at the end of the 1st half to round out the winning score. For Hoover, Ross Wilson scored on a 7 yard keeper and Dennis King found the end zone twice, once with 32 seconds left to narrow the margin.

2005

  • Class 1A: Brantley High School (13-2) defeated Addison High School (14-1) by a score of 21 to 12.
Brantley took an early 12-0 lead on a 75 yard James Pittman run and a 24 yard Shane Corley reception from QB Edger Walker. Addison held them scoreless through the second half, with Caleb Parker catching a 4 yard Jake Gilliand pass and later running it in from 2 yards out. Blake Turner caught the last TD with 10:00 remaining to provide the final score.
Lanell Wilson rushed for two touchdowns, one an 89 yard kickoff return to start the second half and Chase Horn threw two more scores to Ross Cotney. Win Knight made a 20-yard field goal in the 2nd quarter to cap off the shutout.
  • Class 3A: Pike County High School (15-0) defeated Cherokee County High School (13-2) by a score of 10 to 6.
Pike County's defense controlled the game, holding Cherokee to one touchdown, a 25 yard pass from Zach Morgan to Damion Chambers and scoring all 10 of Pike's points on a 2nd quarter safety and 4th quarter interception return of 70 yards by Tim Isaac.
  • Class 4A: UMS-Wright High School (15-0) defeated Deshler High School (12-3) by a score of 42 to 16.
Michael Scoot threw three TD passes and Rashod Bumpers rushed for two to lead UMS-Wright to victory. Raphael Hogan had a 54 yard run from scrimmage and a 55 yard fumble recovery for Deshler.
Steve Freeman had four rushing touchdowns for Homewood and Austin Hubbard threw for two to lead the Patriot's offensive showcase. Blake East threw for both of Buckhorn's scores in the loss.
Ross Wilson ran for two scores and threw for two more to lead Hoover. Meanwhile the Bucs defense blocked recovered two blocked punts in the end zone to pile up a 35-0 halftime score. Daphne score twice in the third quarter on a 70 yard Phillip Hardy run and a 22 yard pass form Chris Lambeth to Riche Henderson, but Hoover stayed with them with two touchdowns in 20 seconds in the 4th quarter.

2004

The 2004 Super Six was played at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

  • Class 1A: Sweet Water High School (13-2) defeated R. A. Hubbard High School (14-1) by a score of 35 to 7.
Anthony Landrum led the Bulldogs with four rushing scores.
  • Class 2A: Woodland High School vs. Leroy High School
  • Class 3A: Oneonta High School (15-0) defeated Winfield High School (14-1) by a score of 28 to 21.
Miguel Hurtado had three rushing TDs for the Redskins, two in the final quarter of the comeback win.
  • Class 4A: Demopolis High School defeated Deshler High School (14-1) by a score of 35 to 21.
Devin Goodwin accounted for 29 of the Tigers' points as he threw four touchdowns and kicked 5 extra points.
  • Class 5A: Homewood High School (14-1) defeated Russellville High School (13-2) by a score of 35 to 21.
Austin Hubbard scored three TDs on the ground and threw a 74-yard strike to Tim Hawthorne to lead the Patriots.
  • Class 6A: Hoover High School (15-0) defeated Prattville High School (13-1) by a score of 22 to 7.
Jared Bryant threw a 69 yard pass to Mason Dueitt and capped a 55-yard drive with a 1 yard run to lead Hoover.

2003

  • Class 1A: Parrish High School defeated American Christian High School by a score of 20 to 17.
Tony Dixon scored twice in the 4th quarter to lead Parrish's comeback win.
  • Class 2A: Randolph County High School defeated Luverne High School by a score of 21 to 14.
Ezekiel Knight returned a punt 77 yards and rushed from 31 yards out to lead Randolph County past Mike DuBose's squad.
Chris Nickson had three rushes and an interception return for Pike County.
  • Class 4A: Trinity Presbyterian High School defeated Dreshler High School by a score of 24 to 14.
Tommy Trott caught two touchdown passes from Rory McKean to lead Trinity in the win.
After an 83 yard run by Russellville's Mauri McCullough, Briarwood took over the game, starting with a 10 yard run by Simeon Castille.
John Parker Wilson led Hoover with two touchdown passes.
