The Store

The Store was a gas station and convenience store located at 6663 Old Tuscaloosa Highway, at the intersection of McAshan Drive in McCalla. It was owned by Wadsworth Oil Company of Clanton.

The Store, which opened in January 2012, was designed by RLS Design Group to qualify as a LEED certified building, incorporating energy-reducing and ecologically-friendly design and materials. A slope behind the store is covered with an array of photovoltaic panels.

The Wadsworth Oil Company and its 10 stores were acquired by Circle K Stores Inc. of Tempe, Arizona in 2020.
