Trés Taylor
Trés Taylor (born c. 1958 in Orlando, Florida) is an artist and former biochemist. He is known for his colorful, geometric style of illustrating fanciful stories of his own invention. He produces most of his work in acrylic and latex paint on tar paper. He also designs large-scale murals which are typically executed with the help of volunteers.
Taylor spent a decade and a half working in biochemistry at UAB before turning full-time to making art around 2000.
For the 2015 Sloss Music & Arts Festival, Taylor was commissioned to produce an interactive art installation entitled "enCHANTment".
"The Revolution of Joy" (2018) at Alabama Ballet on 1st Avenue South, commissioned with support from Oskar Blues Brewery through their "Can'd Aid" initiative.
His painting "The Middle Way" was commissioned for the lobby of the Valley Hotel in Homewood.
Taylor and his wife later relocated to Selma, Dallas County.
