Rick Kurtz (born c. 1956; died October 27, 2021 in Gardendale) was a session guitar player, known for performing with Topper Price and Delbert McClinton, and for heading Chuck Berry's back-up band at the 1989 City Stages.

Kurtz, who taught himself to play by listening to blues and rock albums. He was a member of The Mortals, The Convertibles and Mike & the Maximums in Birmingham, and with Aerial Railway, Nyman Furr, and others in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He also played and toured with Webb Wilder and T. Graham Brown.

Kurtz moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2000. In April 2010 he suffered a stroke and was hospitalized there for a month. A benefit concert to help pay his medical expenses was organized by Mark Harrelson at the Moonlight on the Mountain music hall.
