Clark]] which was parked outside a vegetable market on [[Morris Avenue]]. Ray brought Tubbs into the office of market office in order to telephone the police patrol. While there, Tubbs picked up an ax and brandished it before market official [[B. C. Gorman]] as he attempted to flee. Ray shot him four times in the back.
