2024 rendering of the planned Birmingham Family Fun Center

The Birmingham Family Fun Center or CrossPlex Village Family Fun Center is a proposed multi-use facility to be constructed at 2340 Crossplex Boulevard in the CrossPlex Village mixed-use development. It is set to include a roller skating rink, bowling lanes, video gaming and e-sports center, bounce zone, table games, event space and food court inside; and pickleball, bocce, exercise equipment, playground, and multi-purpose green outdoors.

The project, as announced by Mayor Randall Woodfin on Facebook, was the result of plans developed by the Department of Innovation and Economic Opportunity. The facility would be built and operated by the city. Woodfin included a request for $15 million for design and construction in a package of capital expenditures announced in January 2023.

The design for the 35,000 square-foot center, prepared by Pieper O'Brien Herr Architects of Alpharetta, Georgia, was approved by the Birmingham Design Review Committee in June 2024. According to principal designer Eric Clementi, the design is intended to "resonate" with the history of the fairgrounds area and industries nearby.
