Mercantile on Morris is the name for the adaptive re-use of several through-block buildings at 2209–2217 1st Avenue North and 2208–2210 Morris Avenue in downtown Birmingham. Orchestra Partners is developing the project, financed in part with an $11.2 million loan from Trez Forman Capital of Palm Beach, Florida. Creature served as architect and contractor for the renovations. The project includes 47 condominium units and 14,710 square feet of retail space, including a pedestrian link from Morris Avenue to 1st Avenue North.
The buildings making up Mercantile on Morris include:
- The two-story former Liberty Overalls Building, later known as the Slater Sales building and the Fanaei Building at 2209–2211 1st Avenue North
- The one-story commercial building at 2213 1st Avenue North
- The western half of the two-bay one story commercial building at 2217–2219 1st Avenue North
