Bibb County
- September 16: A man named Nicholson was fatally shot by carpenter J. D. Williams in Woodstock. Williams was motivated by Nicholson's having assaulted his wife. (link)
Jefferson County
- September 19: John Slate, a private in the Clark Rifles was shot to death during a confrontation over meat at the encampment of the 1st Alabama Volunteer Infantry in East Lake. David McClung, of the same company, was turned over to civil authorities to face murder charges. (link)
