Proposed guideline for contemporary artists
For the purposes of being able to maintain an unbiased list, I propose that we limit it to individuals who could conceivably have a separate article written about themselves. Though I don't want to create hard and fast rules, I put forth the following guidelines for consideration and discussion:
- Contemporary artists be included only if they meet the spirit of the following qualifications:
- Born in the area, or long-time residents who identify the area as home (not 1-semester visiting professors)
- At least one solo exhibition in an established gallery, or multiple national/international recognitions
- At least two print references to their art career
