Shades Mountain Air is a five-member traditional/country/bluegrass band based in Homewood that has been performing since fall 1988. The band is made up of Don Wendorf (mandolin, hammered dulcimer, banjo), Gary Furr (vocals/guitar/dobro), Nancy Womble (vocals/bass), Greg Womble (banjo), and Paul Wendorf (fiddle/viola).
The group has played all types of gigs, including Beam's Crawfish Boil, but is predominantly heard at church and corporate functions with a few bluegrass festivals.
