Magic City Sweet Ice was located in the Westwood commercial building at 715 Oak Grove Road in West Homewood. The restaurant specialized in Italian ices and gelatos. In addition, they also had sorbettos, frozen custards, hand-crafted sodas, house-baked pastries, as well as hot or iced coffee drink from a full-service espresso bar. It was opened in June 2014 by David and Wani Shaw.
In 2019, 24/7 Tempo put together a list of the best ice cream parlors in the United States, according to Yelp reviews, and Magic City Sweet Ice was named tops in Alabama for independent ice cream parlors.
