Station 41 is a biotechnology "commercialization hub" operated by Southern Research. The program includes a business accelerator, a a therapeutics development fund, a venture studio program, and an incubator facility. Its name references Birmingham's historic association with railroads, and the year 1941, when Southern Research was established.

The incubator space offers private office and laboratory space and equipment for 12 companies, as well as shared support staff and amenities, and access to Southern Research's own facilities. The Station 41 area was designed by HOK of Kansas City, Missouri with Williams Blackstock Architects, and constructed by Brasfield & Gorrie. It opened on January 23, 2024.

The therapeutics development fund (TDF) was established in late 2023 with $3 million in tax credits awarded through the state's "Innovate Alabama" economic incentive program.
