Primavera is a specialty coffee roaster at 4133 White Oak Road, near the intersection with Cahaba Heights Road in the Cahaba Heights neighborhood of Vestavia Hills. Owned by Brett Burton, Primavera hand-roasts its specially-selected coffee beans daily in a gas-fired roaster.
The shop, which opened on August 22, 2006, features Saturday afternoon coffee cuppings, which allow patrons to sample different coffees. Primavera's coffees are also served at other local restaurants, including Urban Standard, Bettola, Trattoria Centrale and Cafe Dupont. Its Peru Norte organic shade-grown medium roast is used in Good People Brewing Company's Coffee Oatmeal Stout.
In 2011 Primavera merged with Octane coffee shop in Atlanta, Georgia, operating as Octane under the Fresh Hospitality umbrella. The roasting operation moved to a larger space adjoining a new Octane location on Homewood's Central Avenue.
