The 2016 statewide primary election were comprised of the following ballots:

  • Democratic and Republican Party runoffs on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. There are no run-offs for presidential candidates, with each party awarding delegates to their respective national conventions based on the primary results.

Overall voter turnout was slightly higher than expected, with 1,269,751 people, or 41.4% of the state's 3,066,732 eligible voters, casting ballots. Of those voting in the presidential primaries, 398,309 voted on the Democratic ballot while 867,235 voters marked Republican ballots.
