Fidelity Lodge No. 7 was the Birmingham chapter of the International Order of Machinists. The lodge formerly met in the Fox Building on 4th Avenue North. The Lodge's float in the parade held on "Defense Day" on September 17, 1940 was cheered for its depictions of the foundations of American democracy -- education, justice, liberty, and progress -- in the guise of wives of lodge members clad in flowing white robes holding symbolic attributes.
