Groveland was a predominately African-American community located in what is now the eastern part of the Woodlawn neighborhood and the southwestern portion of Wahouma. It boarded Greenwood Cemetery. In the early 1970s it was razed for the construction of Interstate 59 and the extension of the Birmingham Airport.
