Bethel Baptist Church is located at 2902 5th Avene North in Bessemer. The congregation was formed 1888 and established itself in this building on October 19, 1975 when J. Marcus was pastor.
Under the leadership of pastor Calvin L. Bell, Sr. the church received grants from the Center for Congregational Resources at Samford University to upgrade its technology for ministry during the COVID-19 pandemic and to further develop its intergrenerational programing.
