Reclining Nude or Reclining Figure (1984) is a sculpture depicting a female nude created by Columbian artist Fernando Botero which is in the permanent collection of the Birmingham Museum of Art and displayed in the Sculpture Garden on axis with the bowed glass stairway. The monumental bronze figure measures 48 x 109 x 61 inches.
It was purchased in 1985 by the Museum with funds provided by Mr. & Mrs. Charles W. Ireland in memory of his sister Countess Colleen Ireland DeTigny, by the Acquisition Fund, Inc., the 1985 Museum Dinner and Ball and other sources.
