Station No. 14

Birmingham Fire Station No. 14 is located adjacent to Legion Field at 535 8th Avenue West and serves the Graymont, Legion Field, Arkadelphia Road, and College Hills areas. It was constructed in 1926 and originally included stables for the horses that pulled the fire equipment. They were later removed to make room for a drive-through bay housing two engines. The station's rescue equipment, however, is housed at Birmingham Fire Station No. 6.

During the 1980s, a honeybee hive was discovered inside the station's brick exterior wall.

In 2010 the city obtained federal stimulus funds to pay for construction of a new $1.8 million three-bay station to replace the existing building. The 9,000 square-foot building will have a brick exterior, a slate roof, and environmentally-friendly design details. Ground was broken for the project in March 2011.
