Pike Avenue Baptist Church was located at 2200 Pike Road at its corner with Avenue V in Ensley Highlands. The congregation was established in 1895 as Compton Hill Baptist Church and admitted to the Birmingham Baptist Association in 1897. When it moved to Tuxedo Park in 1901, it changed its name to Tuxedo Park Baptist Church.

In 1917 it changed its to its final name Pike Avenue Baptist Church. It erected a new brick decorated gothic revival building in 1951. After the church closed, the building became the home of New Birth Baptist Church.

A 1948 drawing in the digital collection of Samford University Special Collections shows that the proposed building was an even more elaborate building than acheived. It had a flèche over the crossing and additional gothic auxillary buildings.
