2008 primary elections

The 2008 primary elections were divided into two election days. Presidential primaries and the 2008 Jefferson County Commission special election were held on February 5, while all other primaries were held on June 3. The 2008 general election was held on November 4.
Statewide presidential primaries
Approximately 1,100,000 votes were cast in the "Super Tuesday" primary, representing about 42% of registered voters in Alabama.
