The Forestwood Corral was a supper club and honky-tonk located on U.S. Highway 78 in the Hillview community, at the western limits of Birmingham, headed toward Forestdale. The club, billed as "The South's Largest — Birmingham's Finest Country - Western Night Club," was owned by Tito Howard and John Formby. Cora Pitts served as hostess.
In February 1971, shortly after part of the club was re-wired, a fire broke out, destroying the building. The Hillview 78 West Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by the Birmingham Fire Department in controlling the blaze.
