Brownsville Heights is a neighborhood in Birmingham's Airport Hills community, north of Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport and south of Tarrant-Huffman Road (Bethel Avenue).
It abuts the Brummitt Heights and Penfield Park neighborhoods across Bethel Avenue to the north; the Zion City neighborhood to the east; and Airport Highlands across 90th Place North to the south.
The neighborhood is represented in Birmingham City Council District 4. Harry Giddens is president of the Brownsville Heights Neighborhood Association. Linda Sims is vice president and Arnetta Moore is secretary.
Students in the neighborhood attend Robinson Elementary School, Ossie Ware Middle School, and Huffman High School. The Brownsville Heights Community Center was constructed in 2013 on the site of a former A. G. Gaston Nursing Home at 9225 Airport Road. The neighborhood association meets there on the 3rd Thursday of each month.
