Rampart IC is a medical device company that manufactures and distributes adjustable floor-supported radiation protection shields used by interventional cardiologists in operating rooms. The device safely replaces heavy body-worn shielding, reducing physical trauma to surgeons.
The company was founded by UAB cardiologist Bob Foster and industrial designer Tom Livingston with help from Push Product Design and Fitz-Thors Engineering. Its Rampart M1128 model is marketed worldwide. Rampart IC has offices at Hardware Park in Smithfield.
