2023 Jefferson County Commission special election

The 2023 Jefferson County Commission special election for Jefferson County Commission District 5 was held on July 18, 2023 to fill the seat left vacant in May by the resignation of Steve Ammons, who accepted the job of executive director of the Birmingham Business Alliance.
9,666 voters returned ballots in the special election. Former Alabama State Supreme Court chief justice Mike Bolin won outright with just under 60% of the vote.

- David Silverstein, 3,925 votes (40.6%)
- Jeff Wise (dropped out July 13), 13 votes (0.13%)
