13th Avenue South
13th Avenue South is a street in Birmingham's Southside and Crestwood communities.
14th Avenue South begins at 13th Place South behind the UAB Center for Exercise Medicine and continues east to Phelan Park. It turns to form the north edge of the park and continues past 15th Street South where it forms the spine of the former "Nabob Hill" residential district. It continues along the front of Ramsay High School and on past 20th Street South to Richard Arrington Jr Boulevard South. The portion entering the former town of Highlands was formerly called Simmons Avenue.
Additional segments of 13th Avenue South appear between 28th and 31st Street South in Highland Park, and as a dead-end street off of Clairmont Avenue South / 12th Avenue South in Crestwood South.
Parts of 13th Avenue South are within the Phelan Park Historic District and the Five Points South Historic District.
