The 2025 Alabama legislative session took place in 2025.

The Birmingham City Council passed a legislative agenda for the 2025 session which included laws addressing machine gun conversions; expediting land bank operations and establishing a trust fund for housing; supporting litter and weed abatement efforts and enforcement of maintenance standards for vacant properties; and providing a way for the city to circumvent the Jefferson County Personnel Board for certain positions.

Senator Linda Coleman-Madison pre-filed a bill to add a $5 charge to vehicle license and registration fees to fund public transit systems. Senator Rodger Smitherman pre-filed a bill requiring all high school students to complete a course in violence prevention, conflict resolution, and mediation before graduating; and another requiring similar training for those applying for marriage licenses.

Representative Susan DuBose (R-District 45) pre-filed a bill to excuse nursing mothers from service on state juries, taking up a proposal previously championed by State Auditor and former District 3 Representative Andrew Sorrell.
