Curtis Rigney (born c. 1963) is the chief of the Alabaster Police Department.
Rigney grew up in Hoover and graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in criminal justice. He was the second-in-command of the Alabaster Police Department when Chief Stanley Oliver announced his retirement in August 2012. While Oliver used vacation time to finish out his last two months, he gave Rigney the go-ahead to make changes to the department. One of outgoing Mayor of Alabaster David Frings' last acts was official promoting Rigney to Chief. Incoming mayor Marty Handlon agreed with the decision.
