D1 Training
D1 Training is a Franklin, Tennessee-based chain of athletic training and therapy facilities. It was founded in 2002 by a partnership which included NFL quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers.
D1 opened its first Alabama location in June 2010 at 1651 Independence Court near Brookwood Hospital in unincorporated Jefferson County between Homewood and Vestavia Hills. It acquired the 3.1-acre property in 2008. Construction of the 29,981 square-foot center was delayed as the company sought orthopedists and athletes to join the venture as tenants and investors. Local investors included DeMeco Ryans, Brodie Croyle, and Vonetta Flowers.
D1 relocated to a former Iron Tribe Fitness facility 1014 Montgomery Highway in Vestavia Hills in 2018. A second location opened in the Finley Center at the former Hoover Metropolitan Stadium before 2020.
