  • March 25: Winston Taylor, 40, was shot to death after refusing to pay for an afternoon meal at the Famous Cafeteria at 1713–1715 4th Avenue North. Cashier Alvis Kuhn was escorting him out with a .38 revolver in his hand. Once they were outside, Kuhn shot Taylor in the back. He was charged with murder. (report)
