The Alabama Gun Collectors Association was organized in Birmingham on November 27, 1954 by 21 men interested in antique firearms.
The group, now numbering over 1,600 members, promotes the enjoyment of collecting firearms, advocates for favorable legislation and organizes regular shows for gun collectors at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex.
