The Green Lantern is a bar located at 6942 Old Tuscaloosa Highway in McCalla. Established in the 1920s, it is thought to be the oldest continuously-operating bar in the Birmingham area.
The bar was originally attached to a tourist court.
Beginning in the early 1960s, the bar was one of several operated by Mildred Mason. Lester Harris bought the bar and began operating it in 1991. He leased the business to Dick and Alma Maben in 2000.
