Hallmark Cooperative District
The Hallmark Cooperative District is a joint venture of Jefferson County and the City of Warrior to redevelop the bulk of the 567-acre former Hallmark Farm property, which was acquired from the Hallmark family for $7.5 million in 2019.
In 2022 Marshall Steakhouse of Holly Springs, Mississippi announced plans for a $16 million development on 95 acres at the Hallmark Farms property. The project would include 9,000 square-foot restaurant with a 120-seat bar and a 7,000-square-foot retail store. It would also include a 100-space Class A RV park and 50 overnight cabins.
In 2023 the Alabama Farmers Federation's Alabama Rural Economic Center proposed to construct a $158 million "Alabama Farm Center" at the Cooperative District. The center would host livestock and equestrian competitions, rodeos, and concerts. Facilities would include an indoor livestock arena, a covered outdoor arena, two livestock barns, and an exhibit hall. ALFA's contract for the entire property left the prospect for the Marshall's Steakhouse development in question.
