Holli Watts

Holli Watts (born c. 1944) is the former Birmingham Park and Recreation Board recreation superintendent and Homewood Parks and Recreation Board director.

Biography

Watts obtained her bachelors degree in recreation administration from the University of Alabama in 1965. She then obtained a job with the Birmingham Park and Recreation Board, where she worked for 32 years, eventually becoming superintendent.

In 1997, Watts retired from the Birmingham position, but became interim director of the Homewood parks board in December. She was assigned to the position on a permanent basis in early 1998. During her tenure, all city parks and two community centers were improved, plus the Homewood Senior Center and Homewood Soccer Park were constructed.

Watts retired from the Homewood board after ten years, on December 31, 2007. Watts plans to serve on the board of the Freshwater Land Trust.
