This is a List of concerts at Rickwood Field, including music-only events which took place at the historic ballpark:

  • July 27, 1963: James Brown with the James Brown Big Band, The Brownies, The Famous Flames, Johnny & Bill, Tammy Montgomery, The Dev L's Den, The Poets, Bobby Byrd and others (promoted by J. Earle Hensley)

Context

Neighborhood complaints led the Park & Recreation Board to request promoters limit the sound volume at concerts in 1971, and to prohibit rock concerts at the ballpark entirely in 1973. That prohibition was later lifted.
