UAB Heart and Vascular Center

The UAB Heart and Vascular Center is a 55,000 square foot facility for the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of heart and vascular diseases. The center is located on the sixth floor of the UAB North Pavilion and comprises 13 clinical rooms and 26 patient rooms to serve 60 patients per day. The $33 million facility makes use of advanced 3-D imaging equipment to help plan and execute minimally-invasive procedures.

The center was dedicated on June 19, 2006.

The Center's directors are Robert E. Koehler, chairman of the Radiology Department and Robert Bourge, director of the Cardiovascular Disease Division. Vijay Misra was director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory until his death in 2011.
